Coffee and Spice Rubbed Angus Rib Eye

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp chopped fresh garlic

  • 1/3 cup CedarCreek Syrah

  • 1 1/2 tbsp fresh mint

  • 1 tbsp freshly ground coffee

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper

  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard

  • 14/ tsp kosher salt

  • 2 tsp chopped fresh rosemary or 1 tsp dried rosemary

  • 4 Angus rib eye steaks

Method

  1. Mix all marinade ingredients well.

  2. Place steaks, in a single layer, in a large glass dish. Pour marinade over and rub in thoroughly.

  3. Refrigerate, covered, for 3 to 4 hours.

  4. Remove steaks from marinade. Wipe most, but not all, marinade off steaks.

  5. Grill and season to taste.

This dish is excellent paired with CedarCreek Estate Syrah.
