Barbecued Beef Short Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 lbs Angus beef short ribs

  • 2 diced onions

  • Sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup sweet and sour sauce

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup chili sauce

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

Method

  1. In a skillet, cook onions in olive oil for about 5 minutes to soften. Remove.

  2. Brown ribs in the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Placed browned ribs in a baking dish with cooked onions.

  3. Mix honey, soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce, water, chili sauce and garlic in a saucepan and heat until mixture is warmed through. Pour over ribs and onions.

  4. Roast at 325oF, covered, for 1 hour. Uncover and baste every 30 minutes until meat falls off the bone, 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

  5. Place ribs on the grill over medium-high heat. Cook until crisp on the outside, about 10 minutes.
